Tropical Storm Debbie initially cancels Camp Amigo 2012 but organizers scramble and reschedule three weeks later!

Camp Amigo was scheduled for June 24 through June 30, 2012. Unfortunately, tropical storm Debbie formed in the Gulf of Mexico just as the camp was scheduled to begin. The storm did the wobble offshore and was initially predicted to turn west toward Texas. Ultimately, this was not the case. As the kids were loaded on the buses and started toward camp, the storm changed it's direction almost due north. Now scheduled to directly impact Florida's Emerald Coast area, (see picture) the decision was made to send the campers back home before they even arrived. Since we were forced to cancel camp due to the storm, Camp Amigo organizers scrambled to reschedule the camp. A suitable location was found at Camp Ocala 4H facility near Altoona, FL. So, a short three weeks after being cancelled, CAMP AMIGO was back on!

Pictures from the rescheduled event will be posted here very soon!
